This is an outstandingly varied collection, including a fair few I’d never heard of before. If you could only pick one, which would it be?

That Tatra is like a refined version of the Dodge M4S.

I’d go for the Tatra because I didn’t know it existed.

Only one? that is hard.

Only one to actually own and afford to drive on my current budget? - Toyota Supra, either MA60 Mark II or MA70 Mark III,

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Runners up: Toyota MR2 AW11 or SW20, or a Pontiac Fiero, 3rd or 4th-gen Pontiac Firebird, or C4 Corvette. I wouldn’t fit in an Opel GT, but it has great axial-rotation pop-ups.

Only one classic? - 1966-67 Buick Riviera resto-mod.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Only one, but money-no-object exotic car... runner up might be the BMW 8-series, but I think the award would have to go to Isdera Imperator, since it was actually for sale at some point, Mercedes-Benz C111 concept cars weren’t sold.

Long, but also remarkably wide-ranging. It would make an epic pub quiz question along the lines of ‘what do these cars have in common?’, and including a couple of the high-end ones along with a couple of the cooking coupes.

911 Turbo (930) Slantnose

Kinja'd!!!

Mainly because it reminds me of, and has to do with the 935, which I will never be able to afford or find.

If I could pick anything I would have the 1st made prototype of Countach LP400. It’s owned (again) by the factory and likely it will never be sold.

For some reason Ferrari 512S Modulo is missing from the list. It’s also pretty much unobtainable as Glickenhaus managed to buy it from Pininfarina’s collection.

You can have a concept if you want - I wouldn’t want to rule out the Dome Zero, or the Lambo Athon I just noticed for the first time:

Kinja'd!!!

Oh yes, and I just noticed that I’d forgotten the Cizeta Moroder V16T is on the list. Not relevant to your comment, but it’s always a good list that has a CZ on it :)

Cizeta V16T, because it’s got a design that was considered too radical by Lamborghini and quad popups.

There is a sinister little part of my Porsche fandom that wants to conceive (and build, if I could ever afford to...) a fun little back-dating project.

1: speedster (cut down windshield and rear interior cover, barely street-legal lightweight.)

2: flachbau (slant-nose)

3: long-hood. (pre-1974 classic front end)

4: flared fender wide-body.

5: 964 Turbo suspension and brakes under Carrera RSR style 17” resto-mod Fuchs-replica wheels. (basically requiring the use of a 964 cabriolet shell.)

6: Cosworth-build 3.6 air-cooled, fuel-injected engine, with a robust 6-speed manual gearbox with a torque-biasing limited-slip differential.

7: early whale-tail horizontal spoiler, which didn’t exist on pre-74 cars.

Basically like a Singer remake of a car that NEVER existed, with features that are almost never seen together on the same car. Singer doesn’t do convertibles, let alone speedsters, and NO long-hood early car has ever been a flat-nose with hidden headlights.

Flachbau speedsters are unicorns, anyway, and any long-hood speedster is a resto-mod, as official Porsche speedster 911s came after 1974, as convertibles were under a moratorium in the late-60s and most of the 1970s... which is the reason for the Targa.

So many amazing choices. I noticed the AMX II is missing from the list.

It is hard not to pick the Tatra MXT, just because it is a Tatra as my favorite. I am going to pick the Dome Zero:

Keisei AE-100 Skyliner

BECAUSE THEN I’D HAVE AN EFFING TRAIN.

*ahem*

More seriously, this is a tough choice.

For Canadian content and originality, I’d be tempted by the Bricklin SV-1 , as featured in Hobo with a Shotgun .

Realistically, I’d want to spend a few days (weeks?) pouring over each of the options to see what made most sense. What can I still get parts for? What’s reliable? (so, not a Lagonda Wagon, despite my attraction to them) What doesn’t drive like tank?

Too much choice.

Kinja'd!!! davedave1111 > misfitmascots

I like the 456, but it’s a bit outclassed by some of the things keeping it company there. I mean, it’s not in the spirit of the question, but there must be at least a dozen cars on there you could sell for enough to buy an entire starting-grid full of 456s.

And I have no argument against the Diablo except that the Cizeta Moroder is on the list, and it’s basically just a hyper Diablo.

Kinja'd!!!

Double the headlights, triple the fun.
